Redmoor Health, a leading health and social care technology provider has announced that its cancer screening AI chatbot has been listed on Spark, a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) provided by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS).
Developed in partnership with Lancashire University and the North Staffordshire Breast Screening team, the AI chatbot can be plugged into a variety of channels to provide real time information on cancer screening. It can also connect to any existing engagement channels which may be used by screening teams such as Facebook Messenger. In North Staffordshire, the screening team increased uptake of breast screening by 13% by simply using Facebook. In Morecambe Bay, cervical screening uptake increased by 10% by using Facebook. The AI chatbot can be easily integrated into any of these channels ensuring that patients can receive information on cancer screening out of office hours.
Now, public healthcare providers looking for AI solutions can access details on Redmoor Health as well as other relevant suppliers via Spark. This online marketplace permits buyers to efficiently identify, evaluate and shortlist suppliers based on their needs as well as providing an easy and streamlined tender process.
Marc Schmid CEO of Redmoor Health, commented, “The development of the AI chatbot has been 18 months in the making, drawing on tech expertise and health knowledge and experience from the screening teams. We are delighted to join the Spark DPS technology innovation marketplace and feel it addresses the need for easier access to novel technologies such as AI and transfer that tech onto the front line of health and care.”
In 2019, CCS launched Spark: The Technology Innovation Marketplace with the goal of improving the ease and speed in which public sector purchasers can access the latest proven technologies, not typically available in traditional commercial marketplaces. The emerging technologies covered by Spark are predicted to have the biggest impact over the next 2-5 years and include AI and automation, data and wearables. As a DPS, Spark enables new suppliers to join and add new service offerings to the marketplace which are proven in solving public sector problems. This helps CCS support the public sector in achieving maximum commercial value. In 2018/19, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth £945m – supporting world-class public services that offer the best value for taxpayers.
