In response to COVID-19 in April 2020, NHS England and Improvement (NHSE&I) commissioned Redmoor Health and industry leading group clinic experts, ELC, to design and prepare to scale a prototype ‘video group clinic’ (VGC) model that would help primary care to cope and continue to support those with long terms conditions.
VGCs offer a number of benefits; most of which extend beyond COVID-19 and will help build primary care and workforce resilience.
The key benefits of VGCs: for practices and patients
- Flexible working for clinicians and support staff
- Clinician efficiency gains
- Positive impact on patient outcomes
- Community connection
- Supporting self-care
- Supporting integrated working across services
- Building primary care teams
- Provide a rich learning environment:
- Support personal development and skills acceleration
Our joint Redmoor/ELC programme provides NHS and social care teams with all the knowledge and expertise required to run video group clinics including knowledge of the most appropriate video solutions for them. Our dedicated helpdesk provides expert 1-1 support in addition to the training workshops and can support teams with any challenges they may face.
